Institute of Ecological Economics & Management (IEEM) is the youngest department of the Ukrainian National Forestry University (UNFU). It was established in 2004 pursuant to Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from February 20, 2003, the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and resolutions of UNFU Scientific Council from March 25 and April 29, 2004 as a creative response on sustainability challenges.
Mission of IEEM is training of highly qualified experts who can implement ideas of sustainable development in economic activity and scientific substantiation of environmentally-sound decision-making. With the conviction that tackling challenges of sustainable development is urgent and no alternative, IEEM rebuilds its curriculum, research and outreach activity to achieve environmentally-sound decision-making and responsible professional and personal behaviour.
